Spring Step Women's Merci Ankle Boots - Comfortable & Stylish Booties for Casual Wear, Work & Outdoor Activities

I usually need a 6.5 wide, which is hard to find. I've found in this brand, I often can wear a 36 comfortably which is a 5.5-6. Based on that, they fit as expected, but if you haven't worn this brand before, you may need a size smaller than you expected. I loved this boot, felt it was comfortable and was excited, so I went to walk across the carpet and they squeak! The leather where it touches each other in the criss cross rubs and makes a lot of noise. Sorry, it's a deal breaker for me. Loved them, but they're going back.I love the look, feel and even smell of these beautiful leather boots. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is that, as some other reviewers indicated, they squeak when you walk. The leather cross straps seem to be rubbing, making a discernible squeaking noise. I have worn them a few times though and it does seem to be lessening with each wear so hopefully it will go away over time.These boots seemed to have it all in terms of style - work or play - not too biker, not too Victorian - kind of '80s throwback vibe. Comfortable foot bed and toe box, too. However, the crisscrossed swathes of leather are very squeaky and well, squeaky is one design flaw that I can't overlook. Returning and continuing on my quest.Fantastic boots - had to order half a size smaller than my normal size - fit great, comfortable, and stylish.
