These springs are for a Ranger SuperCab 4x2 4.0L V6, automatic tranny.I put them on my Ranger Regular Cab 4x2 2.3L 4cyl, manual tranny.I do a lot of off road driving where roads are sometimes washed out and wanted to keep a lower ride height than going with any kind of lift kit, while at the same time keeping the front of the truck from bottoming out. They are working great and actually did lift the front of my truck a tiny bit (maybe a half inch or so) since they are not only stiffer but also have an additional half coil extra over what the stock coil springs had.So yes, now it does have the ride quality closer to that of a 1 ton pickup but now keeps the front end going up and over stuff without bottoming out into stuff in the poor off road conditions I sometimes drive. For me it has turned out to be a great compromise between ride quality and keeping the front end protected in some of the poor road conditions I take it through. In general the springs looked good out of the box. Seems like they come painted pretty nicely, but the paint will come off if you scratch them hard against something else hard during unpackaging and install.BTW, my truck had 170,000 miles on it at the time of the install and needed new coil springs anyway. I'm very happy with the purchase.
